Here is a compiled, and comprehensive list of the courses I have taken over the last four years. Each semester before studying abroad, I had taken one Chinese course, one French course, and at least one business course. Chinese Courses

​​​​​​​​​​​​​Elementary Chinese CHIN 1020

  • A course aimed to improve all aspects of the Chinese language but in particular a focus on vocabulary and writing characters. 

Intermediate Chinese CHIN 2010

  • A continuation of Chinese language skills.

Intermediate Chinese CHIN 2020

  • Chinese language skills that prepare us for conversational skills and the reading and writing comprehension that comes with a 3000 level course

Chinese Conversation and Composition I & II CHIN 3050/3060

  • Taken in Taiwan, this course was designed to improve reading, writing, and conversational skills of Mandarin.

Independent Study CHIN 4980

  • In Taiwan, I had a one-on-one tutoring session.

Sel Topics in Chinese Culture CHIN 4990 

  • This Chinese culture class analyzes Chinese film in order to understand the beauty and complexity of East Asian culture which includes filial piety, collectivism, Confucius thought, strong family structure, and deep traditional values. 

French Courses

Intermediate French FR 2010

  • A course that added to previous skills and worked to fine tune them. 

Intermediate French FR 2020

  • Continuation of overall French language studies.

Int French Con & Comp I FR 3050

  • A class focused on learning more material to prepare for practical conversion in French

French Short Story FR 3040

  • This French literature class exposed us to writers of the francophone world through their poems, short stories, fairy tales, and essays from the 12th century until present day. 

French for International Business I FR 3160

  • This course prepares students to work for French organizations. We learn French business language, French style business papers like emails, proposals, and resumes, along with learning about large French companies that have a global presence.

Writing in French FR 3120

  • Writing in French focused heavily on grammar necessary for proficiency in French writing.

Advanced French FR 3999

  • Two courses taken in France dedicated to advanced language skills

French for International Business II FR 4160

  • This was a transfer credit from Paul Valéry University where I studied the inner workings of business, governments, and ngos from a french perspective.

French Discussion (Honors) FR 2090

  • A small discussion group where we discuss French culture.

Principles of Microeconomics ECON 2110

  • Studying how individuals and businesses make decisions, and how those decisions affect supply and demand. 

Managerial Accounting ACT 2020

  • The accounting information that managers use in decision-making processes, which required us to perform basic accounting functions. 

Macroeconomics ECON 2120

  • This course focuses on the performance of economics on a larger scale such as changes in economic output, inflation, foreign exchange rates , and the balance of payments. 

Business Calculus I MATH 1020

  • The basic functions of calculus that are applicable to a business setting

Principles of Marketing MKT 3010

  • An overview of basic strategies and marketing techniques that follow product, price, place, and promotion

Business Calculus II MATH 2070

  • A continuation of the basic functions of calculus that are applicable to a business setting

Principles of Management (Honors) MGT 2010

  • Basic functions of a manager while being divided into three groups who study, research, and report on a major company. My group followed Nvidia. 

Consumer Behavior MKT 3020

  • Studying the groups and individuals who consider buying, purchase, and use a product

Intro to Tourism & Event Mgt PRTM 3420

  • Analyzing current tourism trends and how that affects business and manager decisions in event management. 

International Economics ECON 3100

  • This class demonstrates consumer preferences, borrowing and lending, and the effects of trade on a global scale while also discussing how different economies, policies, political systems, and institutions of the world impact what one learns in a micro and macro class. 

International Marketing MKT 4270

  • The marketing strategies once must consider when working with an international organization

Marketing and Society MKT 3030

  • A class designed to showcase the effects on marketing and how it aligns with ethics, sustainability, and corporate responsibility

Global Business/International Mgt MGT 3030

  • This course considers all the strategizing and decision-making a global manager must do when working with foreign economic, cultural, social, and political environments

Global Perspectives in Recreation PRTM 3250

  • A class that shows how important it is to have cultural awareness in the field of recreation

Business Writing ENGL 3040

  • Learned how to write using proper business etiquette such as emails, reports, meeting minutes, and so on.

Composition and Rhetoric  ENGL 1030

  • A course designed to prepare students for writing papers at a higher-education level by doing work on research projects and argumentative essays. 

Intro to Lang & Int’l Business LAIB 1270

  • A mandatory class for all LAIB majors which prepares you for what is required of the major throughout your undergraduate experience and how the major can support you after graduation.

Physical Geology GEOL 1010

  • A class to study the makeup of the earth such as its structure and composition, and the environmental processes that happen on it. This class was accompanied with a lab where the first half was spent analyzing and identifying rocks, the other half we examined the natural environment on campus. 

Into to Political Theory POSC 1030

  • A course that uncovers that message and impact that modern day political scientists and philosophers have on how we can interpret them to this day.

Public Speaking (Honors) COMM 2500

  • A class set to practice informative, personal, persuasive, and group speeches.

Play, Recreation, Tourism PRTM 2110

  • A class which looks at how science and technology influences recreation and tourism

Language Portfolio LANG 4990

  • A class which helps student create their personal online portfolio which encapsulates their entire undergraduate experience

European Politics POSC 3170

  • A course that dissects what defines European politics: the welfare system, governance, the European Union, ethnic nationalism, social democracy, parliamentary systems, and more
