Language and International Business: Global Citizen
Tenley Murphy

My name is Tenley Murphy and I am from Saco, Maine. In 2021 I came to Clemson as a Language and International Business major wanting to continue my French and Chinese while also exploring the intricacies of the business world. Being in the Clemson Honors College, studying three different disciplines, being involved with organizations on campus, and of course being a Clemson fan at sporting events have defined my last four years.

My Personal Ethics Statement
I am emotional. To admit otherwise would be a disservice for all the time, consideration, and care I feel that people, my achievements, and desires deserve. This emotion drives me to be fully committed to curiosity and connection, which is drawn from listening to others, hearing stories, and learning. My whole life I have served as a student, observing those around me. I used to question why I am so politically correct and always playing devil's advocate, but it was a way for me to understand someone else, something else. Without being open and curious, we cannot connect. I live to be fair, kind, and open towards others. This guides me to do what I feel is right, how I choose to treat others, but more importantly how I choose to let others treat me. I live to be an individual who is open to change on their terms, not by the influence of others. I am emotional because I strive to protect my morals, values, and ethics.
